Learn to drive this summer

SUMMER SESSIONS of  Driver's Ed classes at CHS (Greg's Driving School) are held in Room 912 Mondays through Fridays, 2:45 - 6 PM, for two weeks.:

Collision Avoidance Training (CAT) class for licensed teens, young adults

FRIDAY, MAY 18, 6 -9 PM & SATURDAY, MAY 19, 8 AM - 4 PM-- James N. Robey Public Safety Training Center, Marriottsville. Monthly Collision Avoidance Training (CAT) class for licensed drivers age 16 - 20 years; conducted by the Howard County Police Department. Click here for information about class fee, registration and more.

Band Backers Driver's Ed Session #7 begins THIS MONDAY 

MONDAY, APRIL 16 - FRIDAY, APRIL 30, 2:45- 6 PM -- Room 912. CHS Band Backers, in coordination with  Greg's Driving School, offers a two-week, MVA-certified driver's education class conveniently after school at CHS. Student must be at least 15 years of age, no Learner's Permit necessary. More information, to register, visit (www.centennialmusic.org/Driver_s_Ed.html).

Collision Avoidance Training for teens, young adults

FRIDAY & SATURDAY, APRIL 20 & 21 -- James N. Robey Public Safety Training Center, Marriottsville. Collision Avoidance Training (CAT) is an advanced, defensive driving and vehicle control program provided by the Howard County Police Department (HCPD) for licensed drivers age 16-20 years. The two-day program (12 hours total) is designed to provide young drivers with potentially life-saving knowledge and understanding of vehicle dynamics and hands-on vehicular control skills.  Click here for details.

Safe Driving Presentation

MONDAY, MARCH 19, 6 PM (sharp!) -- Glenelg High School, Glenelg. Students must attend the Presentation accompanied by one parent or guardian. Students receive a Certificate of Attendance  -- one of the documents required in order to apply for a CHS Student Parking Permit. COLLISION AVOIDANCE TRAINING (CAT) is an advanced, defensive driving and vehicle control program provided by the Howard County Police Department (HCPD) for licensed drivers age 16-20 years. The two-day program (12 hours total) is designed to provide young drivers with potentially life-saving knowledge and understanding of vehicle dynamics. Includes classroom instruction and behind-the-wheel practical exercises on a driving course with a CAT instructor (a Howard County police officer) so that students experience how their vehicle responds in a given situation, and how to regain control of their vehicle once it is out of control.

The HCPD offers a CAT classes one weekend per month, with classes available through December 2012; next class is FRIDAY & SATURDAY, MARCH 23 & 24. CLICK HERE for details.
