TENNIS: At the Regional  Tournament (MAY 17-18), Centennial and Glenelg tied in Fifth Place behind Reservoir and ahead of Mt. Hebron. Athletic meeting: Fall 2012 Boys & Girls Cross Country

WEDNESDAY, MAY 23, 2:20 PM -- Cafeteria. For current CHS students interested in trying out for the Cross Country Team. Students should come to the meeting with 1.) a completed FORMS PACKET; and 2.) a copy of a most-recent BG&E bill to document proof of residence.

BOYS Team:  Pick up a FORMS PACKET from Physical Education Instructor Mr. Alan Dodds (alan_dodds@hcpss.org) by TUESDAY, MAY 22.

GIRLS LACROSSE: The Lady Eagles lost (25-4) their Region Quarterfinal game with Marriotts Ridge on Monday, thus bringing their season to a close; Howard County Times article is here, Washington Post game statistics are here.

TENNIS: The Eagles came in Fifth Place at the Howard County Tennis Championships; results for Centennial Boys Singles and Girls Doubles are included at the bottom of  this Howard County Times "High School Wrap Up" article. The MPSSAA 3A East Regional Tennis Tournament will be held tomorrow (THURSDAY, MAY 17) at Druid Hill Park, Baltimore , to continue on FRIDAY, MAY 18 at Wilde Lake Tennis Center.

BASEBALL: With a (5-2)  victory over Annapolis at Friday's playoff game (Howard County Times story is here), the Eagles travel to Stephen Decatur High School today for a Region Quarterfinal game. BOYS LACROSSE: The Eagles lost (10-7) their Regional Quarterfinal playoff game with Mt. Hebron on Friday, thus bringing their season to a close; Howard County Times article is here.

GIRLS LACROSSE: With Friday's (13-9) victory over Atholton in a Region Quarterfinal playoff (Howard County Times story is here) the Lady Eagles now progress to today's Region Semifinal game against Marriott's Ridge; MPSSAA Region Quarterfinal information, 3A East brackets are  here. PLEASE NOTE: TODAY'S game location has been changed from Marriotts Ridge to Blandair Regional Park, Columbia.

SOFTBALL: The Lady Eagles lost (5-4) Friday's 3A East region playoff with Stephen Decatur, thus bringing their season to a close; MaxPreps game summary, statistics are here. OUTDOOR TRACK & FIELD: The Girls Team (20 events) maintained its Ninth Place standing and the Boys Team (18 events) dropped from Sixth to Eighth Place as Day Two of the county Championship came to a close on Thursday. Drill Team Tryouts

DAILY, MONDAY - WEDNESDAY, MAY 14, 15 & 16, 4 - 6 PM each day -- CHS Dance Studio. If you love to dance and love to promote school spirit, the Centennial Dance Team might be just the team for you. The Dance Team performs hip-hop/jazz routines during half-time at Varsity home football and basketball games. ATTENTION INCOMING FRESHMEN: The Dance Team will perform at the TUESDAY, MAY 8  Freshman Orientation Day, so you'll get to see what the Team is all about.

Attendance at all three (3) days of the tryouts is mandatory. A short dance routine will be taught; at Dance Team auditions, students will perform the routine and demonstrate technical skills for the judges. Please contact Jessica Hammers (jehammers@gmail.com) with any questions or conflicts.

BASEBALL: The Eagles shut out (10-0) Oakland Mills on Wednesday but lost (14-0) to Glenelg on Friday; Howard County Times report on the Glenelg game is here. JV defeated both Oakland Mills (8-2) and Glenelg (12-5). TODAY is the Eagles Baseball Senior Recognition Night, the last home game of the season. There will be decorations, refreshments, senior pictures taken and a DJ not only spinning tunes but also announcing senior team members and their families as they walk on the field, and announcing players when they come up to bat. Baseball Moms are reminded to wear their son's Away jersey. CONGRATULATIONS to seniors Jerry Burgo, Ben Ciraolo, Joey Dichoso, James Etheridge, Ben Goldsmith, Garrett Kurtz, Jared Lacey and Areian Vedadi.

CONGRATULATIONS to senior Carrie Whittenberger for being named "Softball Player of the Week" (MAY 6 - 12).
