David received a Third Place award, and Helen received an Honorable Mention award, for their essays which addressed the topic "The Importance of Pursuing Higher Education.”
. . . to sophomore Anusha Nathan, for receiving an Honorable Mention scholarship award for her participation in this year's DuPont Challenge (c) Science Essay Competition. More than 9,000 essays nationwide were submitted to the competition.
. . . to sophomore Erin Yamaguchi, Art II/Gifted &Talented (G/T); senior Sharish Malik, Art II/(GT) and senior Alex Merkel, Photography II, for receiving a Curator Choice Award each at an awards ceremony held at the Walters Arts Museum, Baltimore, on Saturday. Selected by a judge's panel of curators from area museums and art institutions, the Curator Choice Awards are part of the annual Congressional Arts Competition for the Seventh Congressional District (Representative Elijah E. Cummings) of Maryland. Erin, Sharish and Alex have earned our high school the distinction of winning the most Curator Choice Awards in the Seventh Congressional District. The Awards ceremony was attended by proud parents and family and CHS Fine Arts Instructors Nan Collins, Jo Tulkoff and Heidi Praff.
