THE CHS "IT'S ACADEMIC" TEAM traveled to Arundel High School this weekend to compete in a quizbowl tournament against 12 other teams and CHS' "A" team, comprised of junior Matt Keimig (Captain), senior Miles Young, sophomore Nancy Zhang and "freshman phenom" Ryan Heslin, won a trophy for Third Place. The "B" Team, comprised of junior Clarissa Santori (Captain), sophomore Qian Mei, sophomore Hua Zhou, and another "freshman phenom" Anant Mishra, took Fourth Place.
Some weeks ago, the CHS "It's Academic" team placed Fourth out of 24 teams at a National History Bowl Regional Tournament, thus qualifying to compete in the 2012 National History Bowl Championships in Washington, D.C., in April. Also, the team placed Sixth out of 32 teams from four neighboring states and the District of Columbia at the St. Anselm's Abbey School (Washington, D.C.) Novice Tournament in October.
