Registration is open for high school students, college students and cybersecurity professionals who wish to compete for scholarships and prizes in this inaugural event to be held October 21-22 at the Baltimore Convention Center. The competition is seeking teams of up to six players who will compete in three divisions of competition: high school, college or university and professional. Potential competitors only need a basic knowledge of Windows and UNIX to participate; many orientation sessions are planned. More information in this Columbia Patch article; visit the Maryland Cyber Challenge website at www.mdc3.org.
For any students, parents or teachers interested in this competition, the next orientation session will be next Wednesday, 5/18 at 6pm. (See www.mdc3.org for directions) Orientation will explain how the competition will work; the students really only need basic technology experience to learn to play, so don't miss this great opportunity to win scholarship money!
